Holy Fire Reiki

A contemporary evolution of Reiki taught by the ICRT, known for a gentle, self-guided quality.

Holy Fire Reiki is a modern form introduced by William Lee Rand and the International Center for Reiki Training, first taught around 2014 and revised in the years since.

What Holy Fire is

Holy Fire was presented as a refinement of the ICRT’s teaching, blending elements of Usui and Karuna Reiki. It is often taught today as "Usui/Holy Fire" Reiki, combining the familiar Usui practice with the newer material across the levels.

How it is described

Teachers of Holy Fire tend to describe its energy as especially gentle and refined, and as more self-guided — working, they say, with less need for direction from the practitioner. Practically, a session still looks much like any Reiki: hands rested lightly, the receiver deeply at rest.

Where it sits

Holy Fire is one of the more recent branches of Reiki and, like Karuna, belongs to the Western family of styles rather than the original Japanese lineage. It has spread quickly through the ICRT’s network of teachers, and continues to be developed.

A NOTE

Because Holy Fire is still evolving, its exact form has changed across versions. A current, well-trained teacher is the best guide to how it is taught now.
