Beyond one-to-one sessions, Reiki has a gentle community life — classes, shares, and gatherings where practitioners and the curious come together.
Kinds of events
Reiki events come in a few familiar forms:
Training in the first, second, and master degrees, from a weekend to a longer series.
Informal gatherings where practitioners take turns giving and receiving — a relaxed way to practise together.
Short taster sessions or talks for people who simply want to try Reiki or learn what it is.
Longer, themed gatherings — meditation, self-care, or the Japanese roots of the practice.
What to expect
Most events are welcoming and low-pressure, whatever your level. A share might be a small circle in a community room; a class, a quiet day of learning and practice; a retreat, a weekend away. You need no experience to attend an introductory talk or, usually, a share — just an open mind.
Finding events
Local practitioners and wellness centres are the usual place to hear about events, and many teachers list their upcoming classes on their own pages. Reiki associations and community boards often carry listings too. As ever, choose gatherings run by people whose approach and lineage you feel good about.
This is a guide to the kinds of events you will find rather than a live listing. To learn what is happening near you, ask a local practitioner or teacher.
